Announced on October 1, 2024, the new SSH Discovery Award recognizes the importance of funding larger, longer-range projects led by experienced researchers in the field. This has been a goal of SSH’s already successful research award program, and the SSH Fund is helping make this award possible.
Compared to other research grants awarded by SSH, the Discovery Award will be worth $30,000, and the first submission deadline for a Letter of Intent was October 28, 2024. Those selected to move on to the next round must submit their full proposals by December 2, 2024, and the winner will be announced at IMSH 2025 in Orlando this January.
The SSH Research Committee identified nine (9) major funding priorities for consideration but also maintained an openness to considering high-quality proposals that advance theoretical and applied knowledge in healthcare simulation research.
